Why we exist

Our main objective is to bridge the gap between finance and the need in the market.

  • By offering a variety of financial products and services aimed at raising the livelihoods and economic levels of hundreds of thousands of Somalis at the Bottom of the Pyramid.
  • With sustained focus on the traders and small businesses that are marginalized by conventional banking, we intend to contribute to the growth of a vibrant informal sector in the country.

Our Approach

The Somalia Bottom of the Pyramid market is unique. There are small traders, struggling entrepreneurs and potentially profitable SMEs in need of financial services tailored to their unique needs. But majority of these entrepreneurs do not qualify for bank loans mainly because they do not have the required security.

  • Therefore, we will adopt both collaterized and non-collaterized lending models to address this shortcoming. This will ensure nobody is left out. Those who do not have collateral will be absorbed into the Grameen microfinance model of lending, which involves a number of people receiving the loan as a group where they co-guarantee each other.
